Based on the novel by Margaret Atwood and adapted by Bruce Miller into the web-television series mirrors a dystopian world that is infertile and ruled by (allegedly) Christian fundamentalists under the name Gilead. Fertile women, like the character Offred (her real name is June), are hunted down and obliged to be the Handmaidens to powerful men and bare their children.
In this series society is governed by leaders along with a new hierarchical regime in which women live in cruel conditions, and by law they are forced to work in very limited roles like not being allowed to own property, handle money, or read.
First three episodes of the series premiered on April 26, 2017 and since then The Handmaid’s Tale has been streaming on Hulu. In September at this year, Margaret Atwood announced that Hulu and MGM were developing a sequel series, to be based on her novel named The Testaments. Just like every fan of this series we can’t wait to see season 4!
